Being a photographer is hard work, especially if you have jobs that require a fast turn around. I have been using actions and presets for many years now to help streamline my work. Not only do they make things faster, they can help keep your images consistent, and allow you to do quick batch edits.
Lightroom is easily one of the fastest ways to tweak and edit your photos while still maintaining the original look and feel of the shot. Although I do use Photoshop to finish my editing, I generally always start with Lightroom.
